Edinburgh

A tiny little part of the houses along the hop-on-hop-off bus in Edinburgh, on its way from Princes Street to Ocean Terminal and the harbor :)

Feeling Blue...

I am feeling blue - not the beautiful young lady in the photo...she is my 12 year old daughter, going on 13...and she is extremely happy about getting her first hair color - even though it's only some ombre in the lower half of her very long hair.  I am feeling blue, because she is growing up WAY too quickly :)

Sleep Tight

During his grandfather's 70th birthday party, my 4 year old had a long and tiring day.  He was more than ready to go to bed at 10:40 pm - way past his usual bedtime.  He lay his head on the pillow and was asleep within 30 seconds :)

Stuck!

Curiosity sometimes leads you into trouble - which is what my older daughter realized when she was investigating a tube earlier this month.  She got stuck - and needed help getting out.  But first I took a photo :)

Snow Curtains

We had massive amounts of snow this winter and for too many days we couldn't see outside because of snow covering all of our windows.  It was nice and cozy with the Christmas lights - but when they were gone, the snow was just tedious and I couldn't wait for it to leave.

Week 17

Rain

Iceland...

When leaving Iceland by air, this display is the first thing we see when entering the duty free section.  It's a display of Icelandic brennivin on clear columns filled with ash from the recent volcanic eruption in Eyjafjallajokull.  I don't drink the stuff, but thought the display was really cool :)

Earth Day Every Day

My son on Iceland's official first day of summer - which for some insane reason is around the middle of April, when it's still freezing and usually snowing and not a summer in sight for at least another month LOL  Anyways, it's a day off, so we spent some time outside - even had a spot of lunch outside, dressed up in our winter clothes - and he loved it.  It was a day of exploring nature and finding lots of treasures :)

The kids at my son's play school made these "garbage monsters" out of things that had been thrown away.  The school is an eco school, and I love what they teach them there :)
