All is Calm

The cat in hunting mode.  The birds in our backyard tease her mercilessly - and she never catches a single one.  I'm rather happy that she's a hopeless hunter, but she's kind of cute when she thinks she's trying :)

My older daughter and her volleyball team just became National Champions for their age group :)

Swim Meet

My younger daughter competed in her first swim meet last weekend.  She won her age group's 25m breast stroke competition by a landslide - it was a proud mommy moment :)

Twilight

I snapped this photo on my phone on my walk to work early in October.  I love walking in the twilight hours and watching the sun rise above the mountains :)

My washing machine caught fire in September 2013.  Everything in my laundry room was ruined - even the cobweb in the corner LOL  The good news was that we were very well insured :)

My younger daughter has her own unique style - and I love it.  She has known what she wants to wear since she was 2 years old, and as long as she's not wearing shorts in winter, she gets to decide :)

Drilling Holes

My oldest daughter, back in early April 2007, helping her dad put up a little gate for the stairs to keep her then 9 month old little sister from falling down.  As soon as her dad brought up his tool kit she went and got her own - and mimicked everything he did.  It was fun to watch :)

Eruption

There is a volcanic eruption in Iceland right now.  So far, it's a "tourist eruption" meaning, it's beautiful to look at but not causing anyone any harm or difficulties, since it's in the middle of the country, an area which is totally uninhabited. 
It's been a popular site for photographers - and the photos in my layout are courtesy of the University of Iceland's Department of Earth Science.

The Horse

Travel in Style

This 1926 model of Rolls Royce Phantom 1 traveled through Iceland this summer.  It's already been around the world at least once; traveled over 80.000 km and to 54 countries - and it looks like a beautiful well worn traveler :)
